How To Install A Vizio SV471XVT HDTV
Purchasing a Vizio SV471XVT HDTV wasn't the end of the line - now you have to install it. One popular option is wall mounting, which not only will cut back on the space you lose with the addition of the Vizio SV471XVT, but it will also allow your whole room to look more open.
After you've decided where and how to place it, you need to decide who's going to install the Vizio SV471XVT in your home. While hiring someone may seem like the safe bet to avoid damages, you really don't have to take this precaution if you feel competent enough to do the installation yourself. A professional electronics consultant is just another expense on top of the original cost of the LCD TV when the installation process is not even that hard.
To begin installing the Vizio SV471XVT HDTV, you must locate a wall stud with a stud finder in the area where you want to install it. Unless you mount it into a wall stud, you can't be sure it's completely secure, and the last thing you want is to have it falling off the wall after you paid so much money for it.
Mark the location of the studs and the future location of the Vizio SV471XVT, and then put up the wall mount. Place screws at as many points as possible. This will decrease the stress on each individual screw, and thereby make your television more secure.
Now, of course, you'll hook the Vizio SV471XVT to its mount, and then you'll plug in and hook it up. Next, though, you need to hide all those unsightly cords. They'll take away from the home dcor, and may even interfere with the pleasance of watching television. You could either hide them by running them through holes in the wall, or hiding them on the outside of the wall. Either way, conduits and sheaths are available at any home improvement store near you to assist you in hiding the Vizio SV471XVT's cables.
A few assistants won't hurt the process either, whether you've installed TVs before or not. They can either assist by holding the Vizio SV471XVT in place while you mount it or just offer advice and alternatives throughout the process. Two make the whole ordeal of installing the Vizio SV471XVT safer and much more efficient.
Installing the Vizio SV471XVT was probably the last thing on your mind after researching the perfect LCD TV, and then going to pick it up and transporting it back to your house. However, until it's installed, you can't enjoy it, so this is definitely an extremely important step. Get the right tools together, grab an assistant, and save some money by doing the installation yourself.
