Specifications The Sony BRAVIA 40 inch LCD HDTV comes with a limited one year warranty for parts and labor, allowing users to trust the backing of the manufacturer. It is an LCD Flat-panel, which means you are going to get an excellent picture for your money. The screen size is 40 inches when measured diagonally with a 16:9 aspect ratio. There is no built in DVR nor is it digital cable ready. It has a maximum resolution of 1920x1080, 1080p being the maximum vertical. The contrast ratio is 2500:1 and it has a 3D comb filter. There is no media card slot, or USB slot in this television. But, there is a picture-in-picture otion. There are three HDMI inputs and two DVI inputs. The Sony television has one s-video inputs and two component video inputs. It also has two composite inputs and one pc input. There is one input for an RF antenna and two separate audio inputs. The watts to channel ratio is 10/1. This unit has two speakers and options in English, French, and Spanish for language preferences. It does has a v-chip and a sleep/alarm timer. Channel labeling is possible with this unit and the remote that comes stock is considered standard. The big plus for this unit is that it is ENERGY STAR Qualified, which can save money in the long run. The screen refresh rate is 60 Hz. Dimensions The television dimensions are what make it an amazing piece of equipment. It is 27-1/10 high with the stand and 25-4/5 inches high without the stand. The width of the unit is 39-2/5 inches. The depth with the stand is 11 inches and without the stand it is only 4-2/5 inches! The weight is 49.7 pounds with the stand and 43 pounds without the stand! It is a 40 inch screen size, which means its 40 inches diagonally.
Conclusion This is a great television for your money. I've personally used it and found the picture to be unmistakably good. The sound is equally matched by other 40-inch televisions, and there is no doubt that Sony invested its expertise into this product. Estimated Price The price of this unit is estimated to be $2200.00. But, with the ENERGY STAR Qualifier it will save a small portion of money each year in electrical payments. It is time to get rid of my 8 year old tube TV and I finally narrowd down to two 1080p Flat Panel LCD HDTV TVs that I like. Samsung 40" and Sony Bravia 40". They are both same exact price with similar picture quality. I can not decide what I should get!
Does anybody have these TVs? What do you like and dislike about it?
