Sharp Lcd TV Sales to Rise
On Tuesday Sharp announced via the Dow Jones that it expects slightly higher sales of LCD TV units for the current fiscal year than it expected. Sharp initially target 15 million units for this period however they are now expecting this figure to be exceeded. They have put this rise in sales down to the fact that they have been operating with a government subsidy program which has supported domestic demand. This is excellent news for the company, the industry and the economy. They have also announced that they expect a further 10% rise in sales of LCD TV units in the next fiscal year. They are due to see the end of the domestic government subsidy in March which will see a drop in domestic sales but they still predict good growth in external markets.
This shows that Sharp is growing its presence in the market and that there is strong demand for new products. A spokesperson for the company said "we will aggressively seek growth in China and other overseas markets, this will more than make up for any decline in domestic sales". These words are very confident that their product will grow as expected next year. If companies like Sharp are predicting strong growth this must show good signs for economic growth.
See the amazing Sharp LC46LE821E to see why they are doing so well.
Whilst the company is clearly targeting the Chinese market as the world is so tight knit in 2011 any growth in the Eastern markets will surely bring prosperity to the West. This also shows that Sharp is making a demand product for the LCD TV market. This is excellent news for the consumer, having a larger choice of top models will bring further competition. Where there is fierce competition there is the competitive pressure to reduce cost. The reduction of cost vastly benefits the consumer as each brands fights for market share.
Reading from the Sharp website you can clearly get a picture of where they want their company to go. The sight states the companies guiding principle is honesty and creativity which can be seen in their product design. It also states their goal is to improve the quality of people's lives through state of the art technologies.
We think its excellent news not only for Sharp that their LCD TV arm is doing so well. We hope they continue to grow and push their presence in the UK. This will surely benefit the UK economy and consumers as a whole.
Sharp LCD AQUOS turns off after 15 mins when wall mounted?
If I take it off the wall mount it works fine, The TV will have no power at all. I have to unplug at the mains and then wait for a few mins the TV will then Turn back on as normal and again 15 mins later turn off if on the wall mount.
I have tried different length screws, looked to see if there is an auto off function - like a time out which there is not.
It seems for some strange reason it shorts out when wall mounted. I have the TV connected to a HDMI on a Virgin Media box.
Can anyone suggest the reason why this could be turning off. The Wall Mount is an OEM not built for the Sharp but fits perfectl.
Nope defo not a heat issue it is above my fire place I have put it back on the stand and on the mantel piece above the fire place same space around it and I'm watching TV still for about an hour defo something to do with wall mounting.

Good Small-Medium HDTV for Gaming (Xbox 360)?
I'm looking to buy an HDTV for my apartment room and would like some suggestions since I'm not the biggest tech expert (mostly all I know is that 1080i or 1080p is optimal but most have 720p, but I'm fine with either).
I have an Xbox 360 and would like a TV that will let me get the most out of the visuals, namely in regards to visuals though I also hold good sound as important. I also only want to spend maybe $250 or so at-most (so I guess I'm looking at around a 20-inches or so, which is fine). As far as brands go, I'm open to most any, though I've heard that Samsung is supposed to be the best or among the best for Xbox 360's. Though my family has had a 37 inch Sharp LCD HDTV for a couple or so years and has worked almost perfectly.
As long as the price doesn't go (much) over $250, gives good audio/video and will last, I think I'll be content with a purchase (and I'm not sure if all HDTV's have these, but I'd really prefer those that allow all 6 A/V cables to be plugged in as opposed to the basic 3).

Need some electronic advice!!?
Okay, I am def not, by no means, understanding the difference between today's televisions. Finally, my husband and I broke down when we saw a bundle at Walmart.
Samsung LCD/LED bundle - http://www.walmart.com/ip/Samsung-40-Class-1080p-60Hz-LED-LCD-HDTV-UN40C5000-Bundle/15729136
We didn't notice a very big wow factor, so we purchased the Sharp Aquos Quattron through QVC.. and yes there were minor improvements. BUT playing movies looks fake, soap opera-ish! Which I can NOT stand and I really don't think I can get used to it!
Sharp LCD/LED - http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail/params.tpl.csweb.cm_scid.cswb.item.E166285
We have also purchased a PS3, because we were set on taking back the Samsung bundle to Walmart, and one thing we do know, we def want a blur ray player. There really isn't a "big" difference in either TV, Except $200.00 in cost. I don't know if maybe my picture settings are wrong on the Sharp Quattron, or if it's even worth the extra $200.
Question #1 - PS3 blu ray player ... Good, Bad, Okay, No difference in any other blu ray player?? Please rate it!
Question #2 - The Samsung bundle or more expensive Sharp? AND Why? I know the Samsung is 1080p and 60Hz and the Sharp is 1080p 120Hz
Question #3 - Will the PS3 play the same on either TV?
I just want a outsiders opinion on which TV is the best. We aren't big gamers, we do like our occasional movie, and we don't have HD TV through our cable provider, and we don't want it. The prices on each page are the prices we have paid. (except sales tax, and the qvc order also had shipping charges) I am at a loss for which one to keep and which one to take back.
Looking for some help as to which of the TV's is the best deal!
OR even any other recommendations in the same price range no smaller than a 40".
