Sharp LC-46D64U LCD HDTV Review
Good quality is always what matters when buying any item.
The Sharp LC-46D64U LCD HDTV hasn't been receiving good reviews when it comes to image quality. Some describe the image quality as distorted, appalling, and not good at all. This product is rated as an average product and it wouldn't be a surprise to see Sharp LC-46D64U at the top of those bad reviews for image quality.
However, the sound quality of Sharp LC-46D64U is tolerable and okay. The sound system highlights the other shortcomings of the Sharp LC-46D64U, things which a great TV should possess. If you plan to use an external surround sound amplifier anyway, the okay quality of the audio will not be an issue.
The LC-46D64U has Sharp's Aquos Link Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) which enables it to be connected and attached to other Sharp devices. One of its specifics called Optical Picture Control gives you the power to automatically adjust the TV's brightness which depends on your environment, but this feature is not terribly impressive.
It automatically shuts down after 15 minutes when it doesn't receive signal or the user forgots to switch the TV off because of its power saving feature which maintains the quality of the image. Another interesting feature of this Sharp LCD TV is the Audio Only option which gives you the freedom to not use the TV's sound system when connected to DVD player where you only want to listen to some music from CDs.
Overall the Sharp is manageable and easy to use. The text on screen is understandable even though it uses small letters, and the menu appears nice too. The menu will not automatically close while you are adjusting the video setting. In reality, adjusting video settings is not really a problem because it doesn't occupy much space on the screen.
As for the remote control, it's not handy and convenient since some buttons are too small and the lights on a button don't fit its functions at all. The controls are spaced much too closely together and the remote itself can get uncomfortable to hold in a just short period of time. While there are good menu options and buttons, you will find them hard to see in a dark or low-lit room due to the lack of a back light.
The manual which is shaped triangularly is indeed helpful despite of text-heavy quality. You have the choice to download the PDF version if you are not satisfied reading the manual printed on grayish pages. It also needs to have more pictures to allow users to easily work on their new flat screens without having to stop and read large amounts of text every few minutes.
The LC-46D64U can pass in terms of all features a television should have but unfortunately its image quality fails to satisfy the needs of customers. This flat screen is not a bad bargain for its price, but coming from a company such as Sharp, they could have done much better in creating this flat screen HDTV.
How do I connect an old Panasonic NV-HD610 VCR to a new Sharp LCD television?
The Panasonic VCR/VHS has an RF in and RF out sockets, it also has one red and one white audio out socket. It also has AV1 and AV2 sockets which are rectangular with many pin sockets which i believe are for scart cables. The video also has a switch for RF On, Off and Off(test Signal).
The sharp LCD has one an antenna in socket, AV1 (Red, Yellow and White sockets), S-Video, AV2 (Red, Yellow and White) and Component Y, Pb, Pr and Audio (Red and White)
How do I connect these two together in order to watch old video tapes on the television?

Freshman Dorm Room: Tips on creating an awesome hangout.?
My roommate and I are moving into college tomorrow, and are trying to think up ideas that would make our dorm room stand out from others. We just want a dorm room that would catch the attention of others, and hopefully be a fun place to stay for when friends visit.
Currently, our dorm room is 14 by 12, with no air conditioning, and a strict rule about putting holes in the walls. So, that is one obstacle that we have to surpass.
As of right now, we have two Lofts, a Futon (for guests), a 37' Sharp LCD Television (flat screen), 17 inc LCD Telvision (one for each person), two XBox 360s, 5.1 Logitech Surround Sound with Sub, 12 by 8 bound carpet with padding, door hanging basketball hoop (random fun), Kerasotas Shooter movie poster, and some football posters. That is basically all that we have to offer at this moment.
What else would anyone recommend for an awesome dorm room?
