Sharp Aquos LC42D65U 42 Inch 1080p LCD HDTV Review
I bought this Pointy Aquos LC42D65U 42 Inch 1080p LCD HDTV 2 weeks before Yuletide , on a VERY strict budget. ( My wife's cash ) I'm employed In the AV industry, ( commercial design and installation ) and I was beat, of working with stuff, that was far out of my budget. I have worked with the 52" version before, and It actually looked great. The picture on the Pointy Aquos LC42D65U 42" is very sharp. buy lcd hdtv
The Inputs, are absolutely adequate. Even including RS232 and USB port for firmware updates. HDMI's out the wazoo. All the inputs are located in extraordinarily accessible places. Including the Television's control buttons on the right side of the bezel. The "picture frame" bezel, rocks! I really hate looking at a wide, glossy, distracting bezel, that is common on flat-panals. This one, is thin with hard lines. Very professional looking. Why not have a great looking TV to match the quality of the picture on it?
Anyway, I was often anxious that most other Aquos models were 120Hz. Blu-Ray and Gaming, were the concern's in my final call on what to buy. The standard for Blu-Ray is 1080p/24Hz. Your Totally Covered! Killer refresh rate! Great performance! Especially when used with a Aquos Blu-Ray player. Oh, yea did I bring up the mix, not only works together ( thru "Aquos Link" ), but is also one of the least expensive 1080p $975.00 Blu-Ray $200.00 combo's. I got what I wanted, without having to "settle". The absence of the fifth star on my review, was for the sound. Kinda stinks. Although, not so bad I would not suggest this to anybody. MOSTLY, all flat panel speakers pong. I adore this Pointy Aquos LC42D65U Television regardless. I wold endorse it to anyone.

Broken lcd hdtv?
i baught a sanyo lcd hdtv from wal-mart in tfebruary,i had to hook up a cable box to it,so i took my tv off the wall mount and held it on top of my dresser and one of the mounts screws came out of the top i was holding the tv in one arm,and screwed the lose screw back into the top of the mount to not lose the screw,it was at an angle,and the tv screen touched the corner of my dvd player for maybe a minute or so,i raised the tv back up to then go connect my cables and there was two grey spots,one big to the right of where the tv touched the dvd playr,and another small circle where it touched,there are lines in it like it's cracked the lcd.but i never heard anything,didn't even touch it for that long or hard,there is no indentation on the screen what-so-ever! but there are long verticle colored lines on the screen and a good portion of it is black and has those two grey areaswhen tv is turned on,i have the original reciept and a 2 year warrenty,is it possible to return?

I just bought and hdtv. I need a vcr/dvd combo to hook to this using only the cable wire, no cable box. Help
I am looking at panasonic DMREZ37 or 47VK. Is this possible, thanks. TV is Sanyo lcd hdtv with digital tuner.

Thanks, the tv model is DP21747 and has a built in atsc tuner and a HDMI input if that helps with the recording question.

What is the 5 digit code for a 32" Sanyo LCD HDTV to program it with a universal remote?
We just got a new tv, but can't seem to get it to work with the universal remote that came with our Comcast digital cable box. We've looked at the manual, and it has codes for regular Sanyo tvs (none of those codes work) but no codes for Sanyo LCD tvs. I've tried using the technique where you get the remote to tell you what it is (hold setup for a few seconds, then hit 990 then hit numbers 1-5 and go by the number of times the tv button flashes) but that didn't seem to work. If anyone has any ideas or tips, please let me know, so we don't have to keep using 2 remotes. Thanks for the help. :)
Odd thing is, the 990 thing works until the 5th digit. I hit 5 to see the number of blinks, and it always changes the channel to 5 instead of telling me what the 5th digit is, and when I'm inputting the code, it only lets me input 4 digits before the TV button blinks twice and then the 5 digit changes the channel. Its the only thing I can do with the universal remote, change the channel. But I can't mess with the volume or change the video input (for video games and such) is my remote messed up in that it only lets me input 4 digits?
