looking for a decent surround sound with hdmi in and outs can any suggest brand and models? (Answers: 3) (Comments: 0)
i like the older thicker models the ones that look like dj amps just cuase i think there better in quality in there not please let me know. i really dont know anything bout brands but bose is not an open i think there way over rated i was thinking yamaha or jvc or somethong simular. i would like to be able to use my ps3 to watch blue rays and play my game and hear it using the hdmi wires i think the term is called hdmi pass thru, but again im not sure i would also like to be able to hear the tv in surround sound just in case a some thing good does come on cable, i also have an hd cable box. i have a phillips 1080p tv it says 3 hdmi but i see 4 is one of them an out ? its a shame i dont even know the modle of my t.v. but its philips 1080p hdtv its a 52" and its black this is what it says on the side phillips 158 model 52pfl3603d/f7
sry i type so much im hoping it helps you guys that dibble and dabble in this field of work. i also whould like to listen the the radio on my sorround sound you know fm , aux, tuner, all the options :)

Widescreen HDTV / Widescreen DVD issue? (Answers: 1) (Comments: 0)
I have a 40" Philips 1080p HDTV.
I also have a upconvert Philips DVD player (until I feel like buying a PS3) and all my DVD's are "widescreen".
My question is, whenever I'm watching a movie, or a TV show on DVD the bars on the bottom and top will continuously appear, disappear, and then reappear again. It doesn't happen non-stop, but it does it enough to where when I'm watching it gets highly annoying.
Is there some setting on the TV I have to change? Is it the DVD player or TV not recognizing something? Will this happen with a blu-ray player as well? Because I would really like to fix this issue, and I'm guessing it's not a TV error, just some sort of menu setting.
Any help would be great, thanks.
I'm using an HDMI cable.
When I have some time I'm gonna try and set up the DVD player settings. Thanks, I never thought of that.

macbook to hdtv won't work? (Answers: 1) (Comments: 0)
I have a macbook and i just bought a 32 inch philips 1080p hdtv. I bought the hdmi cable to hook up the computer to the tv and the adapter for the macbook. I hooked them up today and all i got was my backround of my computer on my tv. nothing else pops up that is up on my computer screen like the mouse or itunes, the backround just stays still. what can i do to change this i even changed the tv settings to pc mode.
