Comparison Samsung LCD TV and Panasonic Plasma TV

When it comes to LCD Televisions, Samsung currently create arguably the best and a lot popular LCD TV models in the market. Panasonic on the other hand, sports this reign when it comes to Plasma TV's TVs. To put it simply, should you be torn between getting a LCD and Plasma HDTV, you will have to select from and Samsung along with Panasonic model. Here is a quick guide to help you make your choice.

Viewing Angle. The two Samsung LCD and Panasonic Plasma TVs have similar viewing aspects. Plasma TV's watching angle can be as vast as 178 degrees, although LCD TV's are usually up to 175 degrees. Although both types of Television sets have similar viewing angles, the images regarding Plasma TVs do not suffer from any destruction of quality regardless if viewed from strange angles. LCDs conversely, are best viewed through the front for the best looks.

Refresh Rates. Typically, Plasma TVs have lighting speed refresher rates, similar to the rates of CRT televisions. LCDs on the other hand have a lot slower refresher rates, but recent technological advancements have greatly improved upon the refresher rates associated with LCD TVs. A number of high-end LCD television models today have got refresher rates of 5ms.

Burn In. Plasma Television sets is not well suited for the particular display of fixed images. After prolonged use of displaying static videos, they are susceptible to burn-in effects, where it will leave behind permanent online video 'residues' on the screen, very much like a perpetual shadow on the screen. Newer models today have got significantly curbed this issue. LCDs on the other hand, are susceptible to a similar problem referred to as "retained pixel charge" where a pixel remains discolored. The good news is this problem is fixable.

Life Span. Most LCD versions today last among thirty thousand along with sixty thousand a long time. Plasma TVs get around the same amount of time and energy to reach 'half life'. Not too long ago, Panasonic has announced that it is Plasma TVs may last up to 100'000 hours.

Durability. Plasma TVs are usually heavier and a small thicker than Liquid crystal display TVs. Due to its fat; it is best to leave the particular installation process to the experts, especially if you prefer to mount your Plasma on the wall. Plasma televisions are also more vulnerable, so extra care ought to be taken when taking them.

Image High quality. It is undisputed that Plasma TVs produced clearer and clearer images. This is because of this high contrasts ratio that may be unrivalled by the most expensive LCD product. The blacks are usually deeper and the visuals are more brilliant on the Plasma TV. On the other hand, the screen of Liquid crystal display reflects very little light, producing a better viewing experience in a brightly lighted place.

Why won't this get off the screen?
I just bought a philips bluray dvd player and connected it to a 42" panasonic plasma tv and the message 'sending preset data' won't get off the screen. I tried plugging it out and disconnecting everything but nothing seems to work. Does anyone know what is the reason for this?. All help greatfully accepted.

whats wrong with my Plasma TV?
I have a 42 inch Panasonic Plasma TV, and (this just started now) I have weird lines (about a quarter inch thick and an inch long) appearing all the way up and down in the middle of the TV. I was playing xbox when I saw this. I turned it off and tried a different game, to see if it was just the game. No dice. I tried plugging in the PS3 instead.... Same problem still occured. (both the xbox 360 and PS# were connected through the same HDMI cord). Then i tried playing the xbox again with the VGA cord instead of HDMI cord. The lines did not appear The lines also did not appear when I put on regular cable. Then I tried plugging the HDMI cord back into the xbox and the lines were still gone. I played for about 20 minutes and they re-appeared again! Is this a TV problem or could it be that my HDMI cord is just no good and I need a new one? The cord and TV are the same age, 5 months old. Should I just call Panasonic, or try playing with just a VGA and see what happens?

dish network Americas top 120 channels hd????????
Guys, i have dish network Americas top 120 channels package. The problem is I have few channels that has both SD and HD (it says next to the channel when I browse them) and the HD channels are way better than their SD counter part. But for some reason, my 60"panasonic plasma tv shows the input from both the channels as 1080i.So I called the dish network customer support and they told me that my subscription doesn't have any HD channels at all above 100. WTF? But I can see the channels marked HD and see the difference too when comparing with corresponding SD channels. I have like almost 25 HD channels with great clarity picture. But the cust. support is not agreeing the fact that they are HD channels. They said I have to go online and sign up a 2 yr contract to get HD channels. So my question is what am I getting now as HD channels? Why do they have better clarity than the same SD channel? Do I really have to go sign up to receive HD channels? Also why my TV shows both HD and SD as 1080 i? Does it do some upscaling? Also I have a home theater system and it shows the HD audio as Dolby digital and SD audio as PCM. So definitely there is some difference between them. Does anyone else has experienced something similar? These are some of my channels I have in HD and SD 130 AMC 340 Encor
