Pioneer Kuro PDP-5020FD 50" 1080P Plasma TV Overview
The Pioneer Kuro PDP-5020FD plasma is the 9th generation of 50" plasmas from Pioneer, and the 2nd generation for their Kuro line. Looking at the overall features, it has everything you would expect in a high end plasma television these days. It has an RF in for free over the air HD programming, as well as optical out so that television viewed in this manner can be enjoyed through a digital multi-channel surround system.
The PDP-5020FD can also handle all of the latest technology with its 4 independent HDMI 1.3 inputs with PC Support. It also has an Ethernet port and USB slot for networking and photo viewing. The set will accommodate older equipment with a component video input, S-Video in, and 3 composite inputs. When it comes to picture quality, it is nearly unrivaled. The Kuro line is famous for their deep black levels and vivid color recreation. The second generation is no exception. Although the PDP-5020FD takes stylistic cues from its predecessor with its piano black bezel and removable bottom speaker, when it is in action you will see the difference of its even deeper black levels, its new contrast filter, and improved video processing and scaling. Watching sports is a treat with its advanced Picture-in-Picture modes. There are 4 different positions that you can view it in. A split screen mode with 3 positions and a still picture capability round out its features to help never miss a moment of action while watching 2 games simultaneously. For the movie enthusiast, the HDMI inputs accept both 24 and 60Hz 1080p signal, so whether you are watching a cable or satellite feed, or watching a BluRay movie, it will handle the native signal beautifully. The 5020FD utilizes both a standard 3:2 pulldown at 60Hz and a 3:3 pulldown at 72Hz for accurate and smooth playback of film content without motion judder. Expanding on the media center content, the aforementioned Ethernet port enables picture, music, and even HD movie content to be shared on the set. It is compatible with Microsoft Plays For Sure Protected Content and also supports several video, audio, and picture formats. The Pioneer PDP-5020FD really is the future of television today. All of the features and standards are the latest in hardware technology, making sure it will be compatible with formats and standards that are in use today and in the future. Hours of enjoyment can be had for the years to come with all of the supported technology, crystal clear picture, and the most intense black levels to date. My computer had to be wiped and now the MPEG 2 is uninstalled. Is there a way to install the missing codec?
My computer had to be wiped to remove a virus, and now the mpeg2 video decoder codec is no longer installed. The programmer who fixed my computer said downloading a codec could give me a virus serious enough to ruin the computer. Is there a way to reinstall the codec that absolutely won't give me a virus?
