The Shipments of LED LCD Panel Are Expected to Drop to 47 Percent
According to some foreign media reports, DisplaySearch, a market research institution, referred that the shipments of global LED LCD TV panel in Q1 of this year had reached to 16.4 million pieces, dropping 1%, and the permeability of it was approximately 33%. However, DisplaySearch further pointed out that the panel manufacturers had adjusted LED shipment target, which might lead to the dropping of LED LCD TV panel from 53% to 47%.DisplaySearch also regulated the second half of this year's LED LCD TV panel delivery permeability. It predicted that the shipment rate of the global LED backlight TV panel in Q2 of this year would be 38%, dropping 12%. While, the shipment rate of it in Q3 and Q4 would be 52%, 57% separately, dropping 7% and 5% by comparing with the former expectation.
On the basis of DisplaySearch's opinion, because of the changing of the current sales trend, the prices of high-end LED models decline continuously. So, panel manufacturers regulate LED shipment target and pay more attention to 3D panel. While, the new manufacturers continue to improve GG6 and G8 capacity and focus on the production of cold cathode tube, primarily ensure the stable production.
Since the establishment of the inventory of LED backlight LCD TV panel in the second half of last year, together with unsatisfied market sales of it, panel manufacturers make their shipment target lower. However, in LED industry, many people have realized the inevitable developing trend of LED backlight. Meanwhile, the reducing cost of LED backlight will further promote the sales of it.
Meanwhile, although the consumers know LED more and more today, and panel manufacturers continually increase LED performance and reduce costs as well, it doesn't mean that the market doesn't need cold-cathode tube any more. As to many consumers and emerging markets, the prices for products are still the vital points which will influence consumers' purchase.
As for the shipment quantity of each manufacturer in Q1 of this year, LG's LED LCD TV panel ranked first and its shipment quantity reached 4 million pieces, taking 27% of the whole market. Anycall took 24% and ranked the second. Sharp and AUO took 18% and 9% separately. Almost all manufacturers who adopt LED LCD TV panel use LED backlight of MUO as the main model. By contrast, Sharp and LGD adopt direct type of LED backlight primarily. Judging by shipments, Anycall shared 30% of the market, ranked first. LGD came to second, shared 27% of the market.
