Using Xploder HDTV Player with PS2. Will an HDMI converter make the visual quality even better?

The only thing I can think of right now as an advantage would be that I'd be able to zoom in when playing games in 720p mode. If you have the Xploder you'd know why I'd want to do that, but I don't know if doing so would degrade picture quality, since zooming in is as simple as that. Zooming in. Pixels are not added, but I don't know for a fact so if you do, enlighten me. Second advantage, I'd be able to play my PS2 games at 100% digital so-and-so.

Any info would be appreciated.

no , since the signal isn't high resolution the end results won't be either
in words anyone can understand : consider this - you have x number of pixels , no matter how you process the image you always have the exact same number of pixels at the output as you input
the only reason a component cable improves the picture is because it separates the colors into reds , greens and blues ( primary colors ) so they look brighter and crisper but you won't see a big improvement using hdmi because its made to give high resolutions ( up to 1080p ) but needs the starting resolution ( output ) to be hd in order to have the end result of an hd picture

ps2 compatible ps3 owner -- the ps2 games look extremely pixelated using an hdmi cable so actually they look worse than with the standard a/v cable
