I considered the Sony XBR line, as well as the Samsung 650 series. In the end, I couldn't say I preferred one over the other, in terms of picture quality, color reproduction, etc.
We went with the Samsung LN46A650, as it was several hundred dollars cheaper than the Sony XBR we looked at. Every bit as good, much cheaper, left me enough $$ in the budget to get a BD player (just got it over the weekend, a Sony BDP-S350).

- I say the Samsung or Sony. The Sony will cost more. Go into youre local Best Buy and compare the brands normally they have all TVs on the same channel and you can compare the picture quality right there on the spot.0% 0 Votes
- we have an lg 1080 tv and it has a hard disk recorder built inside of it and you can record and rewind and pause live tv, it is so convinient and I love it0% 0 Votes
- The models are all compatible. Sony's XBR series is the top of the line, but all three brands make very nice TVs.
