Show me another »What LCD television should I get in the 40-42 inch range?
I am shopping for an LCD television, in the 40 to 42 inch range. Are there any brands or factors I should consider? I will be building a home theater, used for movies and video games.

Sony V Series are 1366x768. Only the X and W series are 1920x1080 (1080i).
Don't have complaints about Samsung, in fact what most people don't know is that the major brands share the same quality standards so saying that one major brand set is more likely to have problems is just a matter of bad luck with that kind of brand.

- I suugest you call 2018924880 for all you home theater needs.
- Samsung and Sony make 1080p versions that seem to have nice quality and ready for the future including blu-ray and HD discs. LG might be a contender too. I guess my point is stick with 1080p if you can afford it. There are many other factors but this will get you down to a half dozen models.
- According to some people Samsung has the highest failure rate so don't get it. I bought a Sony Bravia 46'' LCD HDTV which is of course 1080p and it's outstanding. So, I recommend Sony for you because it's the best, and the most reliable brand. You should either get KDL-40V2500 or KDL-40XBR2 those are the model numbers. If you think the XBR2 is expensive then go for the V2500, both are 1080p.
