Which HD connection is a better for my xbox 360?

I just bought a hdtv and has 1 output for each: component, a/v, s-video, hdmi, and vga. Now I want to hook up my xbox 360 to it, but don't know which cable connection is best. I have the core so I don't have any hd cables for it yet. I was thinking about buying th vga hd cable, because my comcast hdtv cable box is already hooked up to the component. What would be the best connection? Should I go with the component hd connection or the vga hd connection?

HDMI is the best cable and you want to use that first. Component (Y-PB-PR) would be your next choice. S-video would be your last choice.

VGA HD is high density and is for a computer to hook up to your monitor/tv. I would be very surprised if you could hook up the xbox through this.

I have my high definition cable tv using my HDMI port while I have the XBOX 360 using my component port. The xbox looks great on my tv, plus this is the cable the 360 comes with so I didn't have to buy a cable. I would suggest you do the same. I needed to specify to my cable company (time warner) that I wanted a DVR (this is also my cable box) with the new HDMI port. They use two Motorola machines that look exactly the same but you need to look in the back to see what ports it offers.
