I have a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300 DVR through Time Warner. Charter-Motorola Moxi DVR quiz?
I have Charter Cable beside HBO and Starz. I have one room beside a MOXI DVR. I love it! However I have two other rooms where on earth the cable is just hooked up to the TV. In those rooms the channel only dance to about drain 76. I'm tired of giving charter so much money every month. I pay Charter adequate for their HBO/STARZ Package, I shouldn't have to reimburse them to rent a digital box to get that programming on the other two tv's. Is their anything I can buy to acquire my HBO and Starz on those tv's. Also Is their anything I can buy that would act close to my MOXI DVR on one of those tv's and also let me see the HBO and STARZ channel on those tv's.

Hi, I am currently using Windows XP. I am trying to get a chinese sub.srt profile to work with the movie. However, when I play the movie the the subtitle display some strange symbols that is unequivocally not chinese. what can i do? my goal here is to lastingly attach the sub onto the movie and then upload it onto my Cowon D2.

Digital converter box?
I currently am renting from Comcast 3 extra digital converter boxes at a whopping $20.75 a month (not including all their little fees & taxes. I hold 4 but 1 came near the package.) I'm thinking of purchasing these boxes so I no longer enjoy to rent at such astronimcal prices. Here is my questions......... 1) Out of adjectives the approved digital converter boxes for the government coupon program which is the best? 2) Do they fashion a digital converter boxes that is a DVR style? If so, who make the best one of those? To rent the DVR's from Comcast is $18.00 a month (not including taxes & fees) and to me is not worth it. But to buy 1 and then buy 2 other converter boxes might be worth it. Any guidance, recommend, pros, cons, etc. would be greatly appreciated! Anyone having any of these boxes/DVR's would love to hear your 1st paw pros/cons about them. Thanks!

I have an HD tv and a Tivo that i remunerated cash for a couple years ago.One of the satelite providers tha DIRECT_ly do TV have an upgrade promotion going and i saw an add on the tv and call the 800 number to enquire around it. I told them i alreadt have a Tivo, they said they have a swap program, i said no thanks i would resembling to kepp mine as i paid for it already.They suggested to put it surrounded by another room. I said ok what is the upgrade.They said i would get a 5LNB dish.better than the 3 i have, that also come with our direct DVR and we will hold them install your Tivo in another room. I explained to them i be an existing costumer, and asked how much would this run?They said"it's a free upgrade" i asked "afree upgrade"?They answered yes. I stated that my bill ran around 49.99 a month and i want to stay around that nouns.They Direct-ly told me, that it would go up a few dollars for the extra HD channel i would get, around 52.99 a month.In short a free up cost me 200.00 on my bill.Now what??

Has anyone set up a dtv antenna in a forest my trailer is in a wooded area and I can only get 1 channel.? (Answers: 3) (Comments: 0)
I can get a few channels certain times of the day. I can not get any better then a 38 signal at all. I know they are there but the forest prevents a strong signal. I have yet to buy a new antenna I want to know what to buy.

10 Sep 2010 at 7:47am  To the last person on Earth (that reads this site) who can't already stream Netflix to their home theater in at least four different ways: if you have a 2010 Panasonic HDTV or Blu-ray player your sometime is now, as the video streaming widget originally promised way back during CES should have recently shown up in a software update. You'll find it in the VIERA Cast menu next to existing tools like Amazon VOD, Skype and Pandora (pictured above) unless of course you're sporting one of last year's models, which are sadly and inexplicably left wanting. If there's any confusion, peep the press release after the break to make sure your specific model made the cut, we'll be double checking for a 5.1 audio option on any of our Watch Instantly movies, again.

Cult filmmaker Joe Dante is the latest director to rail against the practice of converting 2D films into 3D. Dante was in London to promote his upcoming family horror The Hole, which was shot in native 3D, and he revealed exclusively to HCC his thoughts on the subject of converted 3D films... 'There's an art to shooting in 3D... an art that I might add is not being used in the movies that are being converted to 3D after they've been shot. These are basically a way to rip off the public without doing the work. There's a correct way to shoot 3D that makes it easy to watch and a pleasure. None of these films are done that way; they're shot as if they're going to be normal films'. 'Imagine The Bourne Identity in 3D, I mean, you can't have that kind of cutting in 3D, the brain can't process it, it's very annoying. And when you get down to movies that are now so dark and so blurry through this conversion process, they just look like shit. You've got people still paying the extra five-bucks to get in, which is the only reason they do it, and then they come out and they go, "This 3D sucks. I don't want any more 3D". So we're at this weird juncture where we have the best version of the 3D process we've ever had and the easiest to use and the easiest to project, and they're still going to kill it, because they're so greedy. They just want to take every picture they've got sitting in a can, and send it India and have it come back in this fake 3D and charge an extra five-bucks. They're cutting their own throats'. However, the one converted 3D film that was spared Dante's wrath was the recent Piranha 3D, which draws its inspiration from the director's own 1978 cult favourite Piranha... 'I haven't seen it yet. I know about it, because they asked me to be in it, which I couldn't do because I was doing this film. And I read the script, which was... obviously not based on the script that I shot. But there were certain telltale similarities involving girls' breasts. But I was disappointed that they weren't shooting it in real 3D'. 'Now, they explained to me why, and it made sense. They said that they would be out in the middle of Lake Havasu and it would be really hot and the cameras would melt. Which they do, because the RED cameras are very sensitive... digital cameras are very sensitive to heat. And also the water is a very difficult thing to shoot in 3D because the highlights are in different eyes. So, okay, fine, convert it later. But what I didn't expect was that, I didn't expect that their piranhas would look as shitty as they do. Because I was so envious, thinking, "Boy, I didn't have any money for piranhas. I couldn't do big schools of piranhas. I could just quick shots of like six or seven". So, they had all this money, and I was surprised to see how fake the digital piranha looked... Maybe they look better in 3D, because they really didn't look very good in 2D in the clips I've seen'. Joe Dante's new 3D film The Hole opens at cinemas across the UK from September 22.

9 Sep 2010 at 4:46pm  Today's Wall Street Journal has a few key words from Intel CEO Paul Otellini, with a few comparing his company's Google TV approach to the refreshed (and now Intel-free) Apple TV. The biggest revelation is a mention that Google TV will start shipping this month (more specific than Google's own fall prediction of a few days ago) with no word whether that includes products from Sony, Logitech or both. According to Otellini, Intel's success will mean using "the right chip for the right job," and that includes getting its hands dirty on the software side, where he claims his company is responsible for 50% of the code in Google TV. When asked about Apple's simplified approach to the living room he referenced them as two different approaches that may appeal to different audiences, pointing out Apple TV as something his mother might enjoy while his son could make use of Facebook on the Google TV.
Oh, and the $7.68 billion Intel dropped on McAfee last month? He considers it a "valuable asset" and says the best security relies on a combination of hardware and software. Denon's admittedly pricey AVR-4311CI -- which was introduced in late April -- may very well end up being the first major product to gain iTunes AirPlay compatibility retroactively. Yeah, retroactively. According to an updated product listing, the AVR will see a "planned upgrade" in the fall of 2010 that will "provide Apple iTunes AirPlay compatibility [that will let you] stream your favorite music to the AVR-4311CI." Now, we already knew that Denon was a partner of both Apple and BridgeCo (the enabling company behind AirPlay), but this is first mention of any existing product receiving a simple upgrade (firmware, we're guessing) that would add support for Apple's newly touted streaming feature. In other words, this may mean that hundreds, if not thousands, of AirPlay compatible devices are already on the market, and just as soon as Apple and / or BridgeCo green-lights the respective firmware updates, home entertainment systems everywhere may gain support for a protocol that wasn't even public before last week. Here's hoping, right?

Consisting of the SP-DS21-LR and smaller SP-BS41-LR bookshelf monitor, the SP-FS51-LR floor standing mini tower, the SP-C21 center channel, and SW-8 sub, the entire line is on sale now at selected retailers for a reasonable $79 to $199 depending on the component. Despite these wallet-friendly price tags though, all of the speakers sport higher-end details like radio frequency bonded, curved cabinets, improved multi-component crossovers, and gold-plated five-way binding posts -- which seems to fall nicely in line with Pioneer's recent recession-appropriate bang for your buck approach.
