1080p Input
1080p LCD and Plasma TV Technology
1080p LCD and Plasma TVs are the latest technology has available. If you're looking into new tv's and you're wondering what kind of technology might be the best choice, consider a 1080p TV. 1080p TVs give top picture quality, the best in HDTV standard. 1080p is also the digital standard for movies as well. When you go to the movie theatre to see the latest flick, you're actually viewing the movie on a 1080p digital movie projector.
1080 has 1, 080 lines of progressive resolution, the term is also referred to as true HDTV, or ultra HD. All names give 1080p justice - the technology is the best around. When you compare 1080p resolution to a typical TV, you'll be able to point out the striking differences in quality right at the moment you see the pictures. I would definitely recommend a 1080p LCD or Plasma TV.
Currently, there's a growing availability of 1080p TVs at this time. The 1080 LCD and Plasma TVs might give off 1080p of image output, but they sometimes don't accept 1080p Input. Most TVs will be able to convert the 480i as well as 480p signals to 1080p, but it might not be able to properly receive 1080p signals from a DVD player or high res cable unit. I suggest looking this up a little more, as these minor hindrances might not even affect the equipment that you currently use.
1080p LCD and Plasma Tvs are definitely here to stay. Consistent advances in technology bring the 1080p movie quality resolution to your home, in your own living room. If picture quality is at the top of your priority list, it would be a good idea to check out the 1080p LCD and Plasma TV technology available. Since the 1080p resolution is easily comparable to movie quality, the image quality itself will surely live up to your expectations.

62mx195 Toshiba, or hl-r5688 Samsung?
Okay. I am looking to get a tv. I really like the design of the pedestal samsungs(hl-r5688), but I was looking at the toshiba 62mx195.
Toshiba Pros:
Larger, and has a glass overlay (right?), and possibly a better picture output. Symbio's dvr hookup. Lamp is rated at higher brightness.
Cons:
Larger native 1080p means crappy pq for sd channels, and xbox. Almost 95% of viewing will be sd. Samsungs still look better in showrooms. No Game mode. No 1080p input. Have to buy stand.
Samsung Pros:
Don't have to buy stand. Game mode ensures no lag. 10,000:1 contrast ratio. Really snazzy styling. 1080p input. Smaller=better sd content (right?) Brighter, crisper picture in showrooms.
Cons:
Smaller, not "the best". audio lag issues. Same price as bigger toshiba. no provisions for wires , or components.
I like the toshiba for the bling factor of 62". I like the samsung because I believe it is a better quality tv.
Please let me know what you think about my dilemma. I am ready to buy.
Thanks...

I bought a Sony KDS-R60XBR1 that best buy told me was 1080p?
ITS NOT. I bought it back in august and havent had a chance to check until now. any 1080p input will make the screen blank. I was in my local Best Buy every day for about 3 weeks trying to decide between TVs and everyone there told me it was 1080p. Most online retailers advertise it as 1080p when, in fact, it " (the)input to the TV will be up-converted from its original resolution and displayed in 1080p." what do i do????? the KDS-R60XBR2 actually is 1080p but ive already made my $3500 investment.

TV with 1366 x 768 res. with 1080p input?
I recently saw a new model LG LCD TV (32 LC7R) at Audio House. It's a brand new model for 2007 with the '07 xD Engine, 10,000:1 contrast ratio and a 5ms response time. Then the brochure also states that it had a 1080p input. I would like to ask if this input would mean I would be able to enjoy Playstation 3 graphics at glorious Full HD 1080p ?
